Teen Art Awards | Season 3

From Qatar to the World
Teen Art Awards Season 3, held in Qatar, became not just the finale of another season, but a real turning point for the project – the moment when an international initiative turned into a sustainable cultural and educational platform for a new generation.
In cooperation with Teen Hub, initiative Qatar Museums, the third season brought together art, technology, education, and cultural dialogue, creating a space where young voices were not only heard but truly recognized.

“It was important for us not just to talk about the future, but to show teenagers that culture, values, and humanity remain fundamental even in the most technologically advanced world.”
– Teen Art Awards team
The central theme of the season «How to Preserve Cultural Values in the Era of New Technologies» invited young artists to reflect on heritage, identity, and cultural responsibility in an era of artificial intelligence and rapid technological change.
Season 3 included international open call with the participation of teenagers from more than 60 countries, as well as a special open call for Qatar and Palestine. This dual format allowed us to maintain the global scale of the project while deepening dialogue with local and regional communities.

  • How Artists Build Careers
  • The Journey of an Artwork — From Studio to Exhibition
  • Collectors & the Art Ecosystem
A key element of the season was an expanded educational program implemented with the support of Zurani. It included four modules introducing participants to the real workings of the art world.
This program gave teenagers not abstract inspiration, but guidelines, knowledge, and confidence necessary for conscious movement in their profession.
This season, Christie’s became a partner of the Teen Art Awards Qatar project and awarded the winners the opportunity to study on the Christie’s Education learning platform

DESIGN CHALLENGE AWARDS

Honouring young innovators in technology, sustainability, and design

The Teen Art Awards Qatar final evening was a true celebration of art, ideas, and human presence. More than 300 guests – teenagers, families, educators, partners, and VIP guests – gathered to celebrate the power of young creativity:

  • Mixed Reality & Interactive Design
  • Biotech & Biomaterials
  • Digital Fabrication & 3D Manufacturing

The five final projects were presented on stage, and the winner was selected by a national jury – symbolizing that innovation begins with curiosity and courage.
SUSTAINABLE FASHION SHOW

As part of the Teen Art Awards festival, a Sustainable Fashion Show was presented in collaboration with the British Council, inviting young creatives to explore fashion as a thoughtful and responsible artistic practice. Participants developed concept-driven collections addressing sustainability, identity, and conscious production, and presented their works in a curated public showcase celebrating creativity with purpose.
BRITISH COUNCIL PHOTO AWARDS

In collaboration with Tasweer Photo Festival

As part of the Qatar – UK Festival 2025, supported by the British Council, a photography category was introduced:
“Perspectives of Place: Capturing the Spirit of Creative Cities.”

This award highlighted the power of photography as a tool for self-expression and dialogue, reinforcing the Teen Art Awards’ mission to give young people the right to speak about the world in their own language.

Highlights
Two musical interludes brought together tradition and modernity:

  • “Ah Ya Zain” – Arab-jazz dialogue
  • “Mas Que Nada” – joyful final sound

The performances were made possible with the participation of the Qatar Music Academy, an institution that nurtures a new generation of musicians in the region.
The visual highlight of the evening was the presentation of
THE 8 X JEFF KOONS Edition – a unique BMW Art Car created by Jeff Koons and presented by Alfardan Automobiles.

This object has become a symbol of the union of art, engineering, and cultural patronage, and a reminder that supporting art today shapes the culture of tomorrow.

The evening concluded with a short digital film – a poetic story about a robot that, through contact with the art of teenagers, begins to feel, think, and change. The film included real works by the finalists of the international Open Call.

This moment set the emotional tone for the entire evening and served as a reminder that technology only acquires meaning through human imagination.
As part of the continued promotion of participants’ work, the Teen Art Awards team organised a digital presentation showcasing the works of winners from both the international and local open calls, to be presented during the dates of Art Basel Qatar, one of the most significant international fairs in the field of contemporary art.

Awakening of Light
The third season of the Teen Art Awards in Qatar was a quantum leap for the project in terms of scale, depth, partnerships, and educational content.

We want to show young artists that there is no such thing as the perfect moment or conditions. Everything is created step by step, through hard work, trust in the process, and belief in what you are doing.

– Daria Kalinina, founder of Teen Art Awards
Season 3 has come to an end, but its momentum lives on. Qatar Edition has become the flagship case study for the Teen Art Awards – a model on which the further development of the project, new partnerships, and international formats will be based.
